How to derive a diagram to a process variant with SolMan 7.2?

In Solution Manager 7.2, you can create process variants. E.g. https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/Process+Variants suggests variants for payment methods. The same guideline says for such variants:

"The diagrams [for process variants] can be derived from the diagrams that may exist in the parent process".

Please explain how to derive diagrams from a parent level to a variant?

NB! I'm not interested in exports and imports. Only in derivals.

You go to the diagram. Use context menu and select copy. Select cop as variant. On the sub tab of the diagram you then find the variant with a copy of the diagram. You can now modify the diagram, e.g. remove the parts which are not relevant for the variant.

Hi, I know that this was working in SP06 but we no longer see the option to copy as variant since we upgraded to SP07, would you happen to know anything about this?

Hi Joshua,

this is still available in SP07. Maybe it is an authorziation issue.

Kind Regards

Hi Andreas,

Thank you very much, would you be able to point me to the correct authorization object for this?

I find it a bit strange because there was no change in our authorizations. Maybe the auth obj has been moved from one role to another.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Joshua

The authorization object is SM_SDOC.
