missing planning session in database / IBP Excel Add-In

Hello All,

is there a documentation for handling planning sessions and/or documentation of error messages in IBP with Excel Add-In?

What is the issue behind this error message:

Function not possible: This planning view does not have a corresponding planning session in the database. refresh your planning view. (Funktion nicht möglich: Diese Planungssicht hat keine entsprechende Planungssitzung in der Datenbank. Aktualisieren Sie Ihre Planungssicht.)

Previous steps to raise error message were using a saved excel view and pressing simulate button. The application logs do not give further information.

thanks, Erik

Hello Erik,

with a "saved planning view", do you mean that you have stored the excel file on your PC locally and then opened it, clicked on simulate and then the error message popped up? Or did you save it as a favorite / template in IBP directly?

Best Regards,

Anna

Hello Anna,

your first assumption is correct.

The file is based on a template.
This template was saved locally and was only opened next day again when the error occured.

Thanks,
Erik

Hi Erik,

in that case, the IBP interactive simulation will not work immediately when opening the stored MS Excel workbook. You will first need to sync the workbook with the IBP database (save the planning view with the changed data or refresh the planning view in case of no offline data changes) so that e.g. master data attributes can be checked for inconsistent offline changes, a planning session is established, etc.

When you open a template or favorite from the IBP Excel Add-In directly, that is basically happening in the background automatically.

Best Regards,
Anna

Thanks for swift feedback, Anna!

That was what I thought in first instance however, using simulate did work for me (incident was reported by someone else) hence, I wondered if saving is impossible as well.
