I am using Postalsoft Business Edition on a Windows XP (Home Edition) SP2 system. The CPU is getting old (Athalon 1.53 GHz) but the RAM should be sufficient (1.96 GB).
The issue: since "upgrading" from 7.84c to 7.90 rev1, address corrections with DPV and LACS enabled is runnig horribly slow. Pushing about 700 addresses/minute, rather than 7000/min achieved prior to upgrade.
The slowness (and other incidental behavior) reminds me of how Address Correction was slow before I upgraded to 2 GB - DPV and LACS directories didn't load into memory and the result was 'few-at-a-time' addresses corrected at a rate of about 600-700/min.
I check the "Stop assigning if out of memory" checkbox, so in principle the directories are loading completely. Yet the throughput is pitifully (and unacceptably) slow - I am waiting 15-20 minutes on a 17000 address file. Can't operate like this and stay in business.
So- can you give me suggestions on how to regain the high speeds I had a few days ago before upgrade. Is this a known issue with 7.90 and/or with the February DPV/LACS files (I loaded new directories at same time as I upgraded, so I can't be sure which is responsible for the slow throughput).
If it is not a known issue, please make suggestions on how I can get back to higher throughput. Is there any way to know that directories are fully loaded ? Is there any preprocessing I can do to my address lists to speed up the processing ?
Thank you for your help.
