Two Requests in ODS

Hello,

I'm loading from two source systems into an ODS.

The data is to be passed on to a cube.

The request of source system 1 is taking days to load. In fact no data has arrived yet in BW (still selection on R/3 database).

The request of source system 2 has already arrived in BW. However it cannot be activated in the ODS because the request from source system 1 was created first (lower request ID).

I get the message:

Req. X in DataStore X must have QM status green before it is activated

Even if you set the QM status to green, the system would still not allow you to activate an ODS request if not all previous requests are activated as well.

My plan is to activate both requests, even though the other request is still running.

SS1 hasn't arrived in BW yet. And it will probably fail, due to the request being activated in the ODS.

My hope is that the data will be loaded into the PSA even though the request has been activated in the ODS. I could then pick it up from the PSA later on.

Does this sound like a feasible approach to you or rather not?

Many thanks for your advice.

Gerrit

Thanks, Daya,

The question though is: Will the data still arrive in the PSA after I have deleted the SS1 request?

The table in SS1 is huge and the selection of the data takes a long time. The job has been running for days. Once its selected the other ETL steps are faster. I don't want to risk having to repeat the selection on the database.

Many thanks

Hi ,

for that you check the The monitor of your laod . and in details check >>> the extraction tab if the its showing data selection ended the it means taht data has cum till PSA otherwise not ..and if its laoded then you can delete the request from target and repeat the ODS ..a nd reconstuct it later

check the short dump in st22 and TRfcin 58 ..for that load why its taking so long ..

for activating the one request 2 in target you can actiavte taht request manully ..

Hi Gerrit,

make the request of the SS1 to red in monitor of that load and also in ODS -> mange -> make request Red for SS1 request.

and delete that request and then you can activate SS2 request in ODS.

and check why it is taking too long for loading data from SS1(check the RFC connection between SS1 and BI system) check the data in RSA3 SS1 for that datasource.

Regards
