Alert management

Hi,

We need to consider new attributes (from business partner) for writing the alerts in the system. There is little or no documentation about the steps to follow, except to say to add attributes, I need to define new fact gathering service. Can someone point out the steps to do it?

We are using CRM 2007.

Thanks

Hi,

Please check the Transaction CRMC_ERMS_BDC_FIELDS. There for the Field Group BUSINESS_PARTNER you can assign fields which you want to display in the alerts. For each field you have to give Xpath Expression.

For Example:

Field Group : BUSINESS_PARTNER

Field : BP_FIRST_NAME

XPath Expre : //CURRENTCUSTOMER/FIRSTNAME

And this one will be available in the UI When you create the Alert as Business Partner Attribute and you can use it.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for your response. This option only allows to add parameters that are available through teh context. For our requirement, I need to add special info about BPs related to customer.

For e.g. If customer A called in, then depending on the business partner 'B' linked to A through a custom relationship, I need to add the alert.

The alert when customer A calls in, should be ' Customer A called, his partner is B and the addressof B is XXXXXX.'

Thus, parameter for modeling the rules should include B and attributes of B to be able to show in the alert. Looking at the documentation, it mentions about adding a fact base service etc, but am not sure where to start from.

Hope some one can throw some light as to how to realize this in CRM 2007

Thanks,
