Modify/Add home page widgets

Hi,

How do I change/add the home page elements (Appointments , work flow....etc). Also where can i find the available pictogram (icons) in SAP for my section?. I can add a link, but I am not sure how to add the icon, and make the look and feel so that it is grouped separately.

In top navigation bar click on "Personalize" and then under "settings" section choose "Personalize settings". In pop-up window activate option "Enable configuration mode". Then go back to home page and you will see that a new icon appeared under SAP "Back" button. Click on it and then on home page. You will get the new window in which you can set all this things that you are asking for.

I wanted to bring in a view from another component and create a link under it. The process you said is for adding/removing the existing assignment blocks from a view,is that correct?.

I actually created a component usage for that component and added the main window in the view set. Is that how it has to be done? If yes, how to add links under this block.

I wanted to add a new workcenter in the home page like a new section with link from another Z component. I enhanced the WCC_SLS_HOME component and enhanced the contoller class. But unable to redefine WD_USAGE_INITIALIZE method. Should I have to add my changes here to point to custom GROUP_TYPE?

Why do I see GROUP_TYPE instead of GROUP_ID like in component WCC_SLS_REPORTS in method WD_USAGE_INITIALIZE.

Any help is appreciated.

Check building block "CRM WebClient User Interface" (C04). On page 40 (topic 10.3 - Integrate Add-Ins into Homepage) you should find your answer. In this way I for example added to my homepage Z block in which I post important notifications for all users.
