User Mapping to SAP Systems

Hi,

A straightforward question I believe.

I have several backend SAP Systems but they do not have same IDs i.e. no CUA. They are set up as SAPLOGONTICKET with admin, user for user mapping.....the Green Tick indicating "ready for user mapping' appears in the alias page but the systems do not appear in the user mapping page.

HOWEVER, if I assign a reference system, the reference system appears.

Looks like you cannot user map to SAP systems without a reference system.

Or am I missing something?

Regards

Mr.T

    Hi,

You have to create a System Alias for user mapping.

    Please follow the below steps

go to System Admin->System Configuration->system landscape

go to the system that you created in the portal content.

and open the system object. In the display drop down list and create a system alias and set it as a default.

Then in User Administration in the user mapping tab you will get the system alias where you can map easily.

Without system alias user mapping is not possible.

    HI Tahir,

I guess its obvious that you can't map a system with SAPLOGONTICKET. Change it to 'User mapping' from the dropdown box.

please make sure that you have done the following settings:

    for your system object.

    Authentication Ticket Type - Select

    Logon Method - Select -UIDPW

    User Mapping Fields

    User Mapping Type - admin,user

And also that the person who is trying to do the User Mapping has the end User Permission for that System Object.

The main reason for the issue is that:

The selected principal does not have end-user permissions for the system.

    regards,

    Kris

    Hi,

If we create "System Alias " with "logon ticket",It won't appear for User Mapping.

If you change the System Alias with "User Mapping", we will get the system alias for User Mapping.

Change the system alias property in "User Management". Then only you will get.

Let me know , still you are facing problem.

    Regards,

    Bala.

      Thanks for your tips.

Yes User Mapping will give the option but that is not my objective. User Mapping with SAP Logon Ticket is in fact possible...essentially what you are saying is accept SSO but logon with this user ID. This is what the SAP Reference table is for. Either way, my question is that this user mapping should be possible without using Reference Table. Looks like it cannot be done. That is a gap as far as I can see.

      Regards
