SAP Technical Requirements for Rollout of ESS/MSS

Hi All,

I have been playing aound with the quicksizer tool that is on the service market place. I would like to know more with regards to sizing and ESS/MSS solution that is connected to the R/3 backend system.

The Portal does not use UME, but it uses the Active Directory for authentication and all the transactions are being executed in the R/3 system. Currently there are 3843 users in the R/3 and 1800 on the portal.

The scope of the rollout will see an additional number of users especially on the portal side, we are looking at 140000 users who should be able to access the portal. in regards to the R/3 there will be licensing issues, but in terms of hardware requirements should there be more on the portal or r/3????

I suggest you talk to your hardware vendor.

This is an interesting project indeed - but one would need to know more which scenarios you implement and actually "where they run".

There are some differences between the ERP 6.0 and the ERP 6.0 Enh3 package. If you use the latter one and use e. g. Travel Management, you can activate the same to be rendered in WD-ABAP instead of the Portal. So more load will be on the backend system.
