SAP B1 9.2 Browser access: Increase Session Timeout

Hi Experts,

every time our accountants working via Web Access they may entering an invoice with about 250 line, and they may have other things to do as well, according to that if they left the interface without any moves, SAP signed them out from the session and delete all the acquired changes,

additional to it, when SAP closes from itself, it keeps the session opened in the backend, which provide us a problem that the defined maximum users in SLD for example 30, it'll not be enough for 12 users, and after 3 days according to such an issue, no one even the manager can enter SAP via Web Dispatcher!

I've tried many choices, but no one of them worked for us, inside the server, from: path:>C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business One BAS GateKeeper\tomcat\conf and changing the following parts: -->
<!--
<Connector port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1"
connectionTimeout="20000"
redirectPort="8443" />
-->
<!-- A "Connector" using the shared thread pool-->
<!--
<Connector executor="tomcatThreadPool"
port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1"
connectionTimeout="20000"
redirectPort="8443" />

the second choice, from the SLD > Service Tab for Browser Access > and set the Session Timeout, but this one didn't work because of it's just available for SAP 9.3 not 9.2

according to that, could you please help us for what we have to do,

When using SAP Business One via Browser Access, you find the session expires after 10 minutes of no operation.

Prerequisites:

  • You have installed SAP Business One Browser Access.
  • You try to access SAP Business One Client with a Web browser.

Scenario:

  • Log in to Business One via Browser Access.
  • Wait 10 minutes without attempting any operation.

Expected behavior:

The session behaves as usual and you can continue working.

Actual behavior:

The session is closed with a "Session Expired" message displayed. There is no way to change this setting.

Solution

Session Timeout for Browser Access is hardcoded for 10 minutes in SAP Business One 9.2 and earlier versions.

SAP intends to provide a patch or patches in order to enable this requirement in SAP Business One. The section Reference to Related Notes below will list the specific patches once they become available. Any corresponding Info file of the patches in SAP Service Marketplace will also show the SAP Note number. Be aware that these references can only be set at patch release date. SAP will deliver patches only for selected releases at its own discretion, based on the business impact and the complexity of the implementation.

In SAP Business One 9.3, a new feature customizing the Session Timeout value is provided, and you can set the Browser Access session timeout in SLD Control Center ? Services:

  • Select a Browser Access Service.
  • Click the Edit button.
  • Specify the Session Timeout field; default value is 10 minutes.
  • Restart Browser Access Service for the setting to take effect.

The following error message appears:

Session expires. Quit application?

SAP Business One closes after you click OK:

This problem being solved in SAP Business One 9.2 PL 11

Dear Kenan, it seems nobody in the community is able to provide information on this. According to the nature of your problem, it is more of a support case anyway, I recommend to create a support case with your partner and have SAP support check it.Of course, a recommendation can also be to move to 9.3, because for 9.2 no more changes/improvements are delivered (end of Mainstream Maintenance).

Best regards, Peter

This is a problem with your partner. They should take care of your problems and of course also contact SAP at product issues, if you have a maintenance contract.

Thanks for your respond, but I'm wondering about if we don't have a maintenance contract with out partner, doesn't make sense I can't get my problem being solved! we don't have need for such a contract,

I think such an issue affect SAP's reputation, and I believe that we should get ride of it,
