When searching for employees using a dropdown in some HR transactions a standard view is used (M_PREMN) is used. The employee birthdate field is one of the columns in the view. We would like to hide this column. Does anyone know the best approach to hide this column. In the United States, birthdate has become a sensitive data field.
Tim :
You can re-configure this search help through DDIC by changing 'LPOS' (position in the hit list) to 0, and it will suppress birth-date field when data's retrieved.
It's considered to be a SAP repaired, but low-risk of being overwritten by SAP changes ... .
Rgds.

Hi Ted
I also had the same issue of hiding Date of Birth information from Search Help option. When I search for an employee using Last Name and First Name option the Date of Birth also appearing in the screen which needs to be hidden.
Currently I am using HRMC_PREM_EXIT search help exit for the menus appears in PA30 F4. Can i use the same exit and contrl the date of birth from here or do i need to create an exit as per my requirement. I am not clear with your reply that you want me to configure new search help.
Please provide me some additional information on your reply.
Thanks & Regards
Our plan is to go to the dropdown view and alter the characteristic of the table column as suggested. This will not be implemented until May 2009, but the suggested fix does make sense and I assume will work. Thanks for your advise.
