How to change service tax rate? Please give steps

Dear Friend,

From any existing Documents find out the Service Tax Condition Type & how it is determined.

Then go to VK12 enter the Service Tax condition type & select the required conbination.

In the following screen you can change the rates.

But I would suggest you to change the validity periods of current record (i.e. 12%) & create a new condition record (thru VK11) for new Service Tax Rate i.e. (10%).

Hi

If you have already maintained the condition record(T.code vk12) for the condition type related to

Service tax, just change the tax rate from 12 to 10%. Also mention the validity date for

this condition record. it will take care your query.

Dear Friend,

The answer to my question lies in my first post itself.

First, note down your Service Tax Condition Type & how it is determined in Sales Documents.

Then go to VK12 & change the validity period of exixting (12%) Condition Record for the Service Tax Condition (mention 24.02.2009 in to feild of validity dates.

Then go to VK11 & create a new Condition record with 10% & enter validity period as from 25.02.2009 to 31.12.9999.

Hi,

If you are using Condition Based Tax Procedure i.e TAXINN then you can change it in VK12 and if your client is using Formula Based Tax Procedure i.e TAXINJ then you have to change it in FTXP or FV12.
