Perpectual Inventory and Manage Item Costs per Warehouse

Why does SAP B1 Initial Configuration documentation say that selecting Manage Item Costs per Warehouse is a mandatory setting for Perpectual Inventory when SAP B1 help say it is an option? What will happen if I do not set this check box but check the Perpetual Inventory box?

Hi

How many warehouse do you have ? Do you keep different item price for each warehouse ? Or is it same for all warehouse ?

If you like to manage item cost per each warehouse ,you need to select this option .

I am not sure if there is anything wrong. I am confused by the documentation. SAP B1 Initial Configuration document says that setting the Manage Item Cost per Warehouse is mandatory if you use Perpetual Inventory. We are going to use Perpetual Inventory, but we have only one warehouse and do not want to manage item costs per warehouse. If I leave Use Perpetual Inventory checked and leave Manage Item Cost per Warehouse unchecked, will this combination cause a system problem in the future?

To be safe, check this option is better idea because you may need to add warehouse in the future. Warehouse is an concept which could be used not only for your physical warehouse.

Some combination of your configurations will make it mandatory. What is wrong about it?
