Hi,

Route determination is one of the reason for having different ODR and ODO. There will be many other reason as well, Its totally depend upon you at what point you would like to know the difference between ODR and ODO.

This is more of generic question, in case of O/B delivery process in ERP to EWM, in EWM , the process is based on O/B delivery created in ERP , sent to EWM and it creates ODR -> ODO - > OD..my question was what is the purpose of ODO creation? As for example in comparing inbound delivery flow like Inbound delivery (ERP) -? IDN(EWM) -> ID..hope this helps...

Hi,

this is a "why" question. And as a generic rule, you should never ask "why" questions... 😉 It is as it is. Because development hated this question that much, they have removed this documents in S/4HANA and made it switchable in EWM from 9.5 🙂

Seriously, it is as it is. Most things and determinations for the creation of the ODO happen on the way from the ODO to the ODR and would not be that simple without it. So for example the possibility to split (having more then one ODO for one ODR is gone without this document).
