Alternative account no" in the GL master data.

Hi,

what is the significance of the field " Alternative account no" in the GL master data.

as per i know the alternative account no. is maintained in the particular Country chart of account, and amount posted to GL accounts will also update in its assiged alternative account no.

but how to see the balance of the alternative account no.?

Please share more info about this field in GL master data

Hi

Alternative Account no means , before implementation your existing system also GL accounts,

the purpose of this is only when u implement SAP , and create GL account in FS00 , u enter alternative account no of that GL account in your existing ssytem

suppose in tally u given no in

GL account Printing & statioanry 500

then if u create same GL in SAP FS00 transaction code

u enter this no in FS00 Alternative account no field

so it reconcile this is same account which is uses in existing ssytem

You can use F.01 and tick on the flag to show Alternative Account Number

Alternative account number is one tool to get similar GL's total.Business can use like this.

1. You can use same numbers in FSV instead of manin GL's

2. You can use same to get group of GL's total

3. You can get same all standard SAP reports.
