Sales Area

Hello Everybody,

When I am creating a material I am seeing this message -

"Sales org. SORG, distr. channel S1 invalid sales area".

Can someone tell me where am I going wrong?

What has to be done for rectifying this error.

Hi Sneha,

Use this menu path to set up sales area

IMG>Enterprise structure>Assignment-->Sales and Distribution

-->Assign sales organization to company code

-->Assign distribution channel to sales organization

-->Assign division to sales organization

-->Set up sales area

-->Assign sales organization - distribution channel - plant

After completion of these settings you need to set up the Common distribution channels and common divisions using t-codes VOR1 and VOR2 before creation of the Customer Master data and Material Master data.

Hi,

Verify if you have the combination SORG, S1 in transaction VOR1, also check VOR2. If you don't have the combination in VOR1, please enter a new line with the combination and try to create the material again.

Assignment of sales org units properly and inturn u need to assign to plant and storage loaction

Assign distribution channel to sales org

Assign division to sales org

Set up sales area

Assign sales org distribution channel and plant

Assign distribution channel to sales org

Assign division to sales org

Set up sales area

Assign sales org distribution channel and plant

Plus VOR1 Common distribution channels

VOR2 Common divisions

OVAO combine sales orgs

OVAM combine distribution channels

OVAN combine divisions

and also OVAZ assign sales area to order types

But according to me your error pertains to VOR1 and VOR2 settings

Hello Friend,

Please check whether the sales area given by you is exist or not.Go to SPRO-->Enterpise Structure >Sales & Distribution>Assignment-->Sales Area and check the sales area like Sales organisation and distribution channel has been defined or not. If defined check whether they have been assigned to each other or not.
