Hello,
I recently crossed 500 annual points in 2009. But still I haven't received any mails from SCN community.
I thought for scoring atleast 500 points in a year, we receive a community badge.
But i haven't received anything till yet.
Has the criteria being changed?
Regards,
Tarun Gambhir
Well Tarun, I think SAP has not started giving badges for 2009 yet, Or else I would have got it in jan 2nd week itself,
Just wait, when SAP starts the proces U'll definately receive your GIFT, so dont worry and keep on contributing.
Dont let such things bother you, Have Patience. As Jurjen said, its a gift so just wait to receive it, instead of asking for it.

Be patient, you will get that one day. And you can expect it later in this year, But don't disappoint, keep contributing. and Don't send mail to Lisa. she may not be able to help you. unless she get the list, she can't send the mail to you for Address confirmation. Once you confirm the adress then only it will be shipped(But beware of customs, in case of India it will take time).
I had 5000 points only in 2008, it was all converted to money (pounds) and later to food
What better than this ?
By the way I didnot get (or see) any badges, mails etc.I thought all these were stopped from 2008, Wasn't it ?

Last year was the first year they were distributed instead of the t-shirts. I was happy to have been sent one for my 2008 contributions, but it is not something which I would wear at home or to work (unlike the t-shirt which I do wear on weekends while working in the garden).
I am hoping for another Top Contributor badge for 2009, and was thinking of taking them to a jewellery store and having the pair fitted as earrings for the missus.
Has anyone done this before?
Any advise would be highly appreciated...

You mean the badges ?
How to claim ?

Just wondering what its made off ?
There is nothing wrong expecting badge from SAP as from my experience, I have seen people, using it as one of their additional qualification and showing it in interviews )

Now that's a surprise for me. I wouldn't have thought about that use. But that may be because I post under my real (and coincidently unique) name so my contributions can be found by those who are interested. I think showing such a badge will not benefit me in an interview.
@Jurjen - having a community badge will not help in interview, but being an active contributor on SDN will definitely do. If SAP thinks that rewarding people will motivate them for contributing then what's the harm in expecting it from SDN.Here is what I received last year for being top contributor from SDN.
u201CWe would like to thank you for all your contributions to SDN/BPX. It is your active participation
that makes the SAP Community Network a valuable resource for the entire community. In appreciation
of your support, we will be sending you a Community Badge to mark your achievement in becoming an
SAP Community Network 2008 Top Contributor. We would appreciate your cooperation in helping us send
you the Community Badge that you have earned.u201D
@Tarun - Being a new comer to SAP world , it will definitely boost/motivate to contribute and share more on SDN. Tarun you can expect it without any doubt. Will somebody help Tarun in getting his answer rather than moving into a discussion which is already done on SDN so many times.

I got the same but consider it to be a kind of gift instead of something I am entitled to, that's why I do not understand people who are asking for it. And yes, I do appreciate the recognition.
I agree that the discussion is drifting off (again) but still think the only answer to such questions is: "patience".
Can you please explain why this badge is so important to you?
I am not joking, this is a serious question. I sincerely do not understand why badges or poi nts are so important. To me the forums are a source of information and a platform to help colleagues.
