I have a client that has a need to put various miscellaneous items on their invoices. These are small items which have little value and thus are not tracked in inventory.
I was thinking I could create ONLY one inventory item called "Miscellaneous" and adjust the description on the invoices as needed. However, in testing this it appears that B1 wants me to create an inventory item each time I change the description. I do not want to create a bunch of miscellaneous inventory items. Any other suggestions?
What you can do is using only one item code. The item description can be changed on the fly. You could type in the ItemName field and Ctrl+Tab to save the change for each individual invoice, . This will only change the name for this invoice only.
Thanks,
Gordon

I tried following your instructions, but the "List of Items" with "Cancel" and "New" buttons keeps popping up every time. Below are steps I did.
1. Created new inventory Item No. = MISC
2. Selected Item No. Misc on A/R Invoice
3. Typed in description in "Item Description" field
4. Pressed Ctrl+Tab
I was hopping it save the item with new description on the invoice without prompting me to create a new item. What did I do wrong?
Hi all,
I was having the same problem, but this has just solved it.
My customer was going to add many services to stock, as many as the descriptions they were going to use and that isn not very practical.
I did the alt+tab on the item description and it worked. Have you tried more times? Maybe you didn't press the right keys, I don't know, sometimes it happens.
Edit: Sorry, didn't see the thread was already answered.
