Serial Number to start from perticular Number.

Dear Experts,

Client has used the serial numbers up to say 400 till date. and in SAP they want to start from 401...2..3..4... how can i check this in system.

Can i do this in Standard SAP or else how.?

Please suggest..

Hi

Go to Tcode: IQ09.

Specifiy equipment category of the serial number (Opional) & execute.

Output will show the list of Serial numbers. Select the field for equipment number. Sort in descending order. This will get you the latest equipment number.

Serial number correspending to this latest equipment number will be the last created serial number.

See the client is not working on SAP currently. and they want to continue the Number range which they they were using till now.

IQ09 will give me the Number range which is used in SAP.

OR How can i put in system that these numbers say upto 400 are not to be used.

What will be your strategy for Serial Number creation i.e.:

1. Internal numbered or as per logic specified ny the client

2. When will the serial number be created? - During GR positing or in advance?

Hi,

The Serial Number Genration will be internal, but say if today i started to use the serial Number Profile in those mat codes, System would genrate from 1, 2, 3, .... But i want to system to genrate from 401.

This genration will be at GR.
