SAP S/4 Hana without Fiori (second question)

Hello,

My company don't use SAP. Now, we are adquiring SAP S/4 Hana, but we will use just classic SAP modules, that is, we will not use the Fiori application. Does the SAP GUI have the same performance as the Fiori apps? Will the SAP GUI be supported after 31 December 2025?

Thank you

Hello Leila

The core SAP business processes are still supported in SAP GUI, however, there are some feature that are exclusively available in Fiori. For example, I'm from production planning area and I can tell you that the new DDMRP is only available with FIORI. Besides that, there are many analytical fiori apps that are only available through Fiori.

If you don't want to use those new features, then you can keep using the classic SAP GUI interface without FIORI. I don't think you will have any problem, from a performance point of view, using the SAP GUI.

As far as I know, there are no plans to stop supporting SAP GUI in the future.

Hi Caetano,

Could I just use half DDMRP without Fiori?
I mean I will not use DD function, just want to use DDMRP's MRP logic to calculate the planned or PR for the product and material.
I want to know if I create the material master with MRP type D1 and lot size H1, then give the max stock, reorder point and safety stock, total replenishment lead time instead of buffer value and decoupled lead time.
After that, I will run MRP live, could I get the result by following the DDMRP replenishment planning logic?

(Actually I create one question with the title "S/4 DDMRP without Fiori" in this SAP community)

Best regards,
Jason

Hi Leila,

There is one really LARGE problem... the innovations of S/4HANA are delivered using Fiori. So if you don't use Fiori you don't get any of the new stuff. Ok maybe some faster analytics.. but that alone is hardly what your CxO will call digital transformation!. Please read this blog:

Hello Leila,

As Caetano mentioned, there are no problems in performance when not using the Fiori interface.

Regarding the support for SAP GUI, this depends on the Windows Version you are using.
