Planning Path for SAP

Hi, I'm starting to develop some planning applications in BI with Integrated Planning. Mostly for planning material quantities. I know SAP has other planning tools that are new so I was wondering.

Am I safe using Integrated Planning for quite some time or does SAP have some other path they are taking as far as planning goes?
