Payroll run after separation action

Hi Folks,

After doing separation action for an employee, we are changing the payroll area to 99 for the consecutive month from the date of resignation (for the payroll to stop running from next month onwards), but is this the standard process??

Eg:

If an employee resignes on 25.11.2008, separation action is run on the same date but in IT0001 from 01.12.2008 to 31.12.9999 payroll area 99 is assigned.

But i suppose the following status change in IT0000 while running separation action should not allow payroll to run after 25.11.2008 without payroll area change to 99 from 01.12.2008 onwards.

Employment: 0 Withdrawn / 1 inactive

Special Payment: 0 No special payment

Pls suggest the standard.
