Split of Planed Order in PP/DS

Hi :

I have 2 PPMs say PPM1 and PPM2 .PPM1 has resource as R1 and PPM2 has resourece as R2.Both these resources are defined as finite resources by finitness level.Now suppose I have a demand of 1000 for the month of March on dat 31.03.2009.While running production planning with heuristic SAP_PP_002,system is generated a single planned order only one PPM say on PPM1 for planned order date as 6.04.2009.Even in source of supply system shows my both PPM.If I try to change source of supply as PPM2 system throws me error by saying that order can not be sheduled on this PPM.If I deactivate first PPM on which planed order was created and then on re running product heuristic it picks up another PPM on which it was throwing error during change of supply option.

Now my question are:

A> How can I make to system to pay respect to dur date.I have already tried option as Avoid delay.but it did not work out.becasue in this case system did not create planned order at all becasue not a single ppm can fulfill demand of 1000 before 31.03.2009.

B> How can I make seting to split the planed Order.Splitting of planed order can be done by quota arrangement which is also working fine for me but I dont want to set hard constraint on quota arrangement.

C> Even after setting rank(Proc. Priority) on PPMs system is considering high rank ppm first for production but on that PPM also its delaying the order.

Please let me know ur views on this.

Hi Ashish,

Regarding your queries.

A) You can define maximum earliness of a receipt to avoid delay. You can also use backward scheduling in heuristic settings. You can use "Earliest date" under desired state field while defining the strategies.

b) You can split planned orders via lot size if applicable. Use period split to split your demand as per definition.

c) Once the above settings are made, try again and check your scenaio under question C.
