old databases cleanup in wrk directory

We are using NFS shares to store all databases on a central location. However, we have updated a lot of the maxdb databases and removed a lot. When i look in the /sapdb/data/wrk directory i see a lot of .M760xxx directories. .M760xxx.dbm.shi .M760xxx.dbm.shm. In the /sapdb/data/config i also see a lot of leftovers from deleted database and some .m7xxxxx entries in the databases.ini. What can i do with these files/directories and entries in the databases.ini? Can i clean up this stuff?

Thanx,

Bas
