Inbound process without HU

Hello Experts,

Need one help to map the requirement for inbound process.

Material will arrive at GR Zone 9010----> Quality Inspection(Out of SAP)---->Final Storage types/BIN

Business have following requirements

1) Handling units should not be generated at any step, meaning Quantity level should be Bin level not at HU level. So, Product warehouse task should be created not HU WT in whole process. Business dont want to work with HUS.

2) After Inbound delivery distributions to WMS, Automatic GR should be done and WT should be created manually but confirmation step should be automatic.

Appreciate if you can just highlight the approach to map the requirement. I did some analysis and found that If we declare Quality inspection in Layout oriented storage control as ID point, i can work without HUs?

Is there any possible of direct Putaways to work with Product WT if I dont use any storage control?

The first part to Avoid using creation of HUS and direct storage bin determination is bit complex for me

My question to you. Do we need to create inspection type, inspection lot origin and sampling procedure in ECC?

We just need QM help to automate the WT creation and No HU to be created any any stage?

Do we need create inspection set up and fill action profile in it?

Hi,

for QM it works that the inspection rule and the existance of the inspecition document moves the goods to the work center, without HUs, but you need parts of the process oriented storage control.

In the settings for the POSC you need to have an entry with the external process step for the quality inspection (default is QIS) and the bin + the flag for rule based.

In the inspection rule the same external process step must be entered (in the field "Step"). Then the first step will go to the inspection work center. The decision of the inspection document will trigger the creation of the next WT.

I have never tried the proposed solution from Alexander.

Thanks for your reply. Here QM is not integrated with EWM, so no Quality engine will involved anymore.

Inspection lot creation and usage decision of inspection lot is out of SAP, so flow of material is like: GR Zone---> to QM Work center--->to destination bin.

In this flow, they need no Hus creation with automatic creation of WT, auto GR after IBD creation in ERP.

QM zone is just like an ID point or work center.

Can we use Quality inspection as ID point, the flow is like Gr ZONE--->Quality Storage type(ID point)---->Final Destination BIN. Can we automate the Warehouse task from GR zone to Quality WT1 and subsequent also(Both Automatic)? In this way, we can avoid working with HUS

Hi,

you mean using LOSC? Why? As I wrote in my first answer, you do not need POSC and HUs. You need some settings from POSC (the connection of the process step to the work center) and the process step in the inspection rule, that's it.

well, if you want to do a quality inspection, with a document and a decision, yes, of course. If you do not use ERP QM, then just on the EWM side.
