Internal errors refreshing webi reports on SAP BW

We are on BO XIR2 sp5 on solaris. Built the universes from windows client of BO XIR2 sp2.

When refreshing a webi report of a universe built on BW query, the following error message appears;

"An internal error occurred while calling the 'retrieveListOfValuesEx' API Error (WIS 30270)"

Also when we try refreshing a webi report of a universe built on Infocube, the following error message appears;

"An internal error occurred while calling the 'processDPCommands' API Error (WIS 30270)"

what could be the reason? How to resolve these?

Hi Rajesh,

are all characteristics that are acting as a reference characteristics of the variable in the BI query either in the rows / columns or free characteristics ?

The sap note mentioned above says that

" The error messages appear because the Use Single-Sign On when refreshing reports at view time option is enabled even though no authentication used."

But in our case we didn't select that option in the connection Login parameters in universe designer.

Please suggest if it happens for some other reasons aswell.

Hi Rajesh,

there is a rather significant difference regarding the Service Pack installed on the client and the server side. Can you please consider upgrading the client with Service Pack 5 also and recreate the universe?
