Hi Thiru,

That is the regular process, when completiong backup drive will push outs catridge.

Because after successfull completion of backup, eject option will push outs catridge from drive.

If you want to check the backed up data, check your backup log. It will show you the all datafile details and size.

Hi Thiru,

Just install your HP tape drive software on your server then test that is it detecting the drive or not?

If yes, you can change the INITSID.SAP parameters accordingly as mentioned above.

Hi Thiru,

First connect your tape drive to your server, then scan the same from your server console. If it is detecing the correct drive. Come to initSID.sap and change parameters, here you can find different pareameters for different Operating Systems. Here need to change below parameters,

1) dev_type to tape

2) destination to /dev/mnt0 according to your OS

And before this acitvity you need to install LTO sloftware on your sever.

Once all activities got finished, you can test a backup.

Hi,

You need to make following changes:

1. backup_dev_type= tape

2. tape_copy_cmd = cpio

3. tape_size =size of ur tape

4. tape_address = /dev/rmt/0mn

5. tape_address_rew = /dev/rmt/0m

Remember to initialize the tape before use and test the backup

Let me know of any issues

Hello Thiru,

by default it is default: $SAPDATA_HOME/sapbackup

so it is the path to the backup directory in your server,so it should be full path to the backup directory

Let me know if this helps

Hello Thiru,

Once the backup completes, tape willl be automatically ejected.

I dont think there is any way by means of which you can see the data stored in the disk but yes what you can do is to run the backup with verify option

This BRBACKUP command option verifies the backup after the files have been backed up
