Time Zone / IDOC issue

Hello. We are using PI to create IDOCS in an R/3 system. Both PI and R/3 are using GMT.

PI is using a standard RFC destination, to connect between it, and the R/3. It is using a service account, which does not have timezone specified in the user record in SU01. So, it too, defaults to GMT.

Our requirement, is for the IDOCS to post (shipments) in US CST time zone. We have the relevant plant setup, in master data maintenance, with the US CST time zone.

It is my understanding, that this time zone should then be picked up automatically (it is enabled, in the various time zone administration transactions.) However, the transactional data is always posted in GMT.

We can get around this, by setting up a CST time zone for the service account we use to "connect" from PI to R/3. However, then the time zone for all interactions would be reported in CST.

Any insight on this one? We need to be able to use the time zone specified in the master data for the plan (or customer, or vendor) to post the relevant IDOCS. Based on reading on "help.sap.com" this is pretty much standard config. But, we are not having much luck.

Does the "time zone" field need to be a part of the IDOC structure?

Thanks for your advice.

Kind regards.

Steve
