I'm trying to nail down some answers for a client, but running out of time to find this info in the documentation, and would greatly appreciate any full or partial responses to the following. My client would like to install BO XI Enterprise Professional 3.1, including the bundled Tomcat 5.5 on a Windows 2003 Server. This will be a small installation (for the forseeable future), with less than 20 users, less than 20 reports, and less than 20,000 rows of underlying relational data. Here are the questions ...
1. Can BO and Tomcat reside on the same server?
2. Can BO and Tomcat be configured to use the user's Windows credentials?
3. Will the server require PDF writer to render reports as PDF, or Excel to render as Excel?
4. What is required or automatically downloaded (such as activex or java modules) on a user's Windows/IE client machine when viewing reports (desktop intell and webi), and when creating webi reports?
5. The user's client machines and maybe the BO/Tomcat server will have JRE 1.42_08 installed for another app that requires this specific version. Can BO tolerate this version? Is there anything in the server install or client browser that will try to overwrite it?
