Relative reference in SAP Business By Design

Hi Experts,

The below report shows up data when I directly give the value for fiscal year and accounting period. However they are not showing up (No report data available to display; Check the selection) when I relatively reference value such as "Current Fiscal Year" and "Year to Date" for fiscal year and accounting period.

The key figures CA_BUDGET_V1, CA_FORECAST_V1 and

CA_FORECAST_V2 are restricted key figures.

Kindly let me know where I am going wrong. Thanks

I created a new report with the Financial Statements Actual vs Budget as the base

Dear Sai

I can see that the company is based in Australia & the selection "Current Fiscal Year " would mean 2016.

It seems you have not entered any data in 2016.

You have entered data in 2017 & hence when you make the selection 2017 & the accounting period 5 the system is giving you an output whereas it is not giving you an error otherwise.

Thanks for taking time to look into this question.

The identification of a fiscal year is the calendar year in which it ends; thus, the current fiscal year is 2017. So the error is not with that one. In addition to this, it works perfectly fine when I am using the out of box key figures. The problem is coming only when I am using restricted key figure.

Hi Sai,

As Saurabh mentioned, this could be due to No Data available in the selected fiscal year.

Using restricted key figure (Where you have a problem) Try clicking on the show description field. this will show you the fiscal year being used when Current fiscal year is entered as parameter. Using which, check if you have data for the fiscal year.

But I am pretty sure 2017 is the current fiscal year and it is getting selected whenever I use the standard key figure group.

I tried to give current fiscal year as the default value for the variable and encountered the below error message

So I am hoping that relative selects can only be used if any of the standard key figure group is used in the system. I might be 100% wrong, but this is what I am inferring from that error message.

And as expected it works fine with standard key figure group.
