Upgrade kernel 7.00 to 7.01

Former Member

Hello!

I'd like to upgrade to Solution Manager Ehp1.

Now I downloaded Sap kernel 7.01 Part I and Part II and I created backup of old kernel.

To update Sap kernel manually it's necessary to...

delete old kernel, unpack new kernel and execute saproot.sh after kernel files copying?

I need your help

TIA,

Tonya

Hello!

I can't get the upgrade kernel

I updated the kernel via JSPM, but the services can't start.

Any Idea?

Thanks.

Jeronimo,

try to execute

stopsap

saposcol -k

cleanipc <Abap Instance number>

cleanipc <Java Instance number>

Check that sapstartsrv process is not running (!).

Update kernel by hand according Sap note 19466.

(Also check the note 884281)

Attempt to start up your system.

"cleanipc" is a program to clean shared memory segments on *nix platforms, it does not exist on Windows and there's not need to execute it.

Then you should do what is done when a system doesn't come up:

check the logfiles

dev_disp

dev_w0

hello,

Just for your information. You need to update your BRtools, ccmsagent, some more files separately after upgarding kernel to new patch. You can check the list on servicemktplace for these components.

Sometimes these components need to update to latest patch after kernel patch upgrade separeately.

thanks

Hi

You must apply the new kernel with JSPM, this action up to date the ABAP & JAVA part kernel

Update your kernel with the last version, I believe Patch Level 23

David.

I'd update the kernel manually. Where do you got that information it must be done using JSPM?

yes,

u need to delete the old kernel, dont overwrite it

unpack the new kernel, copy all the files in the exe\run folder, run saproot.sh so that it adjusts the permissions

and then start SAP

In case of any issues, please do tell me
