Hi all,
I'm setting up Service Desk functionallity and I'm facing a problem when trying to create a new message.
From the simple message window (create support message from help menu) I can create a message to service desk with no problem. But when using the service desk notificataion creator (notif_create) I cannot fill all of the required fields since, when I try to select a component from the components field, it returns nothing. No errors, just don't have the possibility to choose nothing, same applies on the web form for this.
What do you think this might be?
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo
Hello Ricardo,
As I told u earlier u need a connection to SAP to get that done
but SAP has turnaround for this too
Refer to note 616556.The note says
"You can import the attached transport request into the Solution Manager clients if there is no connection to the SAP Front End.
The data in the request is updated intermittently by SAP. SAP accepts no responsibility for the data in the request being up-to-date.
To obtain the current SAP components, we recommend that you set up an SAP Front End connection and retrieve the data from the SAP Front End"
Get this done and your issue is resloved
Cheers
Rohit

Thank you, this should solve the problem, I will take a look at it in no time. If you can also reply to my other question I would appreciate that also..
Also, another off thread little question:
I created a configuration project for service desk on spro_admin on development environment. Then configured all the basic steps for service desk. Now how can move things to quality? Is it enough to create a project transport or do I need anything else?

Ricardo
Did you complete all basic service desk customizing?
Do you have any entries in your ibase? (Tx: IB52 -> Installed Base "1" -> Enter)
If you got no entries here goto tx: DSWP, select your solution and perform "Initial Datatransfer For IBase" from the "Edit" menu.

Christian,
Yes, I have components (the SAP systems) defined on IB52 for SOL_MAN_DATA_REP (1). This is how the system dropdowns when creating a ticket are populated. But no other components are shown. Only have system IDs like "KD2 0020305197 110". This brings me another question. Can I define other objects that are not a SAP system?
E.g. - When creating a new ticket, when I select the system/ibase or the camponent field, how can I select something like Process A instead of SAP System A. I mean, I can have an issue on a web project and want to report on that instead of telling it is a sap component issue. Is this possible to be done? If so, can you provide an example?
Regards to all to the quick replies!
Ricardo
Hello Ricardo,
Here is the solution:
In transaction NOTIF_CREATE, no values are displayed for the components in the F4 help.
Call transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER or DSWP.
Choose: Edit -> Get SAP components
or start the program DSWP_GET_CSN_COMPONENTS.
Call transaction SE38.
Enter the program DSWP_GET_CSN_COMPONENTS
Choose Execute (F8).
Please refer to note 824640
Let me if this helps

Rohit,
I've tried both from the "Get SAP Components" from the solution manager transaction and from running the program directly. Same error on both. I've looked on the note you suggested, the same steps are stated there.
I do not understand why must this have a connection to SAP, and what is the difference from this components from the components I can choose (with no problem) when creating a normal support message (from the help menu for example). Is there any way to customize this / deactivate this option?
Also, will be glad to ear from your findings on how to fix this.
Regards,
Ricardo
