Hi Gurus,
How can we have the pricing at header level of a BOM and inventory control, pricing for statistical and valuation reasons at the item level.
The requirement is to create a sales order with a BOM which should have the price at the header level and when the BOM explodes, the sub-items should be checked for avalability .i,e inventory check at sub-item level.
Can the below be done to achieve the above.
OR+ERLA --> TAQ
OR+NORM ---> TAS,TAN,TAE.
Kindly provide your valuable suggestions.
Thanks
Kumar
Hi
I agree with your first option to go for the BOM pricing at header level and the availblity check of item.
The moment you have taken ERLA the same functionality goes on to the requirement raised by you.
Thanks

hello, friend.
as you stated, when the header material has item category group ERLA, pricing and inventory relelvance will be at header level. header material item category will be TAQ and component item category will be TAE.
a possible solution will be to copy an item category group after ERLA, say ZRLA. then, in VOV7 copy item category ZTAQ from TAQ, ZTAE from TAE, and assign these to ZRLA for your sales document. however, change the settings for ZTAQ and ZTAE.
make ZTAQ relevant for pricing, but ZTAE for inventory. then test if this works.
regards.
hello again, friend.
you will find the relevance for inventory/goods issue in the schedule lines. copy schedule line from CT (say, ZT) and assign to your header material that will have item category ZTAQ. copy schedule line from CP (to ZP) and assign to ZTAE. this assignment is done in IMG > SD > Sales > Sales Documents > Schedule lines. you can configure schedule line ZP to trigger a purchase requisition by entering NB in the order type.
also, you have to make some changes in settings of the item categories. some of the changes as follow:
ZTAQ = Billing relevance A, Pricing X, Schedule lines allowed [checked], Credit Active [checked], Incompletion procedure 26, Partner Determination Procedure T, Text Det 01, Item Cat Grp 1, Screen Grp N, Structure Scope A, Application SD01, Create deliver group X, Manual alternative [checked].
ZTAE = Billing relevance blank, Statistical X, Business item [checked], Schedule lines allowed [checked], Weight/volume relevant [checked], credit active [checked], determine cost [checked], Incompletion procedure 20, Partner determination procedure N, Text Det 01, Item Cat Grp 1, Screen Grp N.
regards.
Hi Srinath,
I tried with the settings you recommended and face a different message this time. As below,
Structure explosion for item 000011 is not possible
Message no. V1578
Diagnosis
You have tried to carry out a structure explosion within an exploded structure, but this is not possible.
For example, the system finds one component and one item category within an exploded BOM that leads to another BOM explosion in document processing. This is not possible because you can only explode a multi- level BOM and the explosion can only start with a document item that has not been generated by the previous explosion.
Similar problems occur when combining BoM explosion and product selection.
System Response
The system does not carry out the lower-level explosion.
Procedure
Configure the settings in Customizing, so that sub-items do not lead to another explosion. It might be that the wrong item category was determined for the sub-item.
However, this error message comes before the BOM explodes. But the PR is not generated by ZTAS despite having the below schedule line configuration.
Order Type - NB
Item Cat - 0
Account assignment cat - H.
Please advice how we can resolve this.
Thank You very much
Regards
Kumar
Hi Kumar
Firstly Check wheather for ZTAS item category in the sales order , the schedule line is CS or not .
In VOV7 for ZTAS check wheateher Automatic PO has to be checked
Now Go to VOV6 for schedule line CS check the settings are there or not
Order type - NB
Item category - 5
Account assignment cat - X
Regards
Srinath
