changing the batch number

Hi Gurus,

We have unrestricted stock in a batch. now there has arisen a need to change the batch number. Can that be done. Stock exists now.

Hi,

You can use MB1B + 311 (or MIGO + 311) where the sending and receiving storage loactions are the same. You can set the receiving batch during the posting.

I'm sorry i forgot to mention, the stock is in quality inspection right now and before the quality department can release it, we need a new batch number. can you please help

Hi,

If your stock isn't in special stock segment (sales stock ,project stock) I don't think you could solve it without removing it from QI stock type.

If your stock got to QI stock type as a consequence of GR you should follow Jurgen's advice (this involves two step: cancel GR (MBST/MIGO(PO) or CO13(PrdOrd)) and new GR(MIGO/CO15)). If not, you can solve it only three step I think (post to unrestricted > SLoc-Sloc transfer, with same SLoc > post to QI with proper batch number).

Hi Jurgen,

a quick question. There are lot of other line items in that material doc. so are these the steps that i need to follow

1) go to MIGO, can mat doc and when i enter the mat doc no it brings up all the line items, i just need to select the line item that i 'm looking to cancel, select tat line item and save the doc. now do the MIGO again against a PO and then just receive just that quantity with the new batch number and that should be it right

Hi,

Is there any problem if u change the Batch after it is approved by the Qulaity.

After the UD u immediately changed the Batch in MB1b 311 Mvt type.

you an change batch number by transfer posting using 309 ..also check in OMCQ - message number M7/199 should be set as warning message otherwise you cannot do it.

You can change batch number from MIGO by 309 movement.

you can change it by 411 movement type and there you get the option of issuing batch and reciving batch
