Pricing

Currently an environmental surcharge is created via condition type ZESL in pricing procedure ZWSER. The condition is valued using material OUTREG (I think it is mainly 6%) and there are some exceptions for customers that pay a reduced rate. OUTREG has been made tax exempt in vertex as service labor is not taxable but in recent audits some states have made us liable for taxes on environmental charges.

Any idea on how we can handle this in SAP?

Hi,

To calculate tax for few states this can be sloved by adding the particular field to the access sequence which is used by the ZESL condition type, and can maintain the relavent tax condition record in vk11for the required states.

Note: Please check on vertex( US) guidelines on these changes.

Once I add the field to the access seqence used by ZESL, do I also need to have the same access sequence for the new condition type that I create for the tax? The ZESL is by material, sales org, and distribution channel. I should just have to create a new access sequence for the tax condition type. Is this correct. Can you provide me with the step by step process of what I need to do?

Hi,

You can use the same condition type ZESL and its access sequence and just add one more step to the access sequence with the key comfination you need ( May be material and country as per your requirement).

Currently : its by material, sales org, and distribution channel

So when you add one more step with key combination you need then it will be

When using t.code VK11.

Radio button : material, sales org, and distribution channel

Radio button : Material, country

Hope this is clear : If you are not clear please post back.
