Unable to connect Automated Analytics from Predictive Client

Hello Everyone,

I have installed Predictive Analytics server and Predictive Factory some time ago. I can connect some of the services as expected on the localhost (server itself I also installed Predictive Client)

Now I am trying Client in my Desktop however it is returning below error (facing the same error on the server as well)

'Unable to connect to Automated Analytics modeling server (IDL:omg.org/CosNaming/NamingContext/NotFound:1.0)

I checked the licence.cfg , it looks fine.

Server side the respective services are active. I tried from my desktop to server ping is working fine, telnet to 12345 is also connecting.

What else I should check?

Regards,

Emir

    Hi Emir Hanci ,

    You mentioned that you have run the installation again on the server. Did you use different installation settings?

    When running the server with factory, people are tempted to use the "localhost" name or 127.0.0.1 ip during the configuration which will prevent remote connections.

    You also mentioned that run some test from the server, did you actually try to run the remote client from the server? Using localhost or the IP?

    Can you try this from the server side:

    • open a terminal shell / DOS console
    • type the following command for a windows environment
    netstat -ano | find /n "1234"

    • or for a linux one:
    netstat -ano | grep 1234

    This should return a list with the server port listening like this:

    [12]  TCP    0.0.0.0:12345          0.0.0.0:0              LISTENING       9324
    [13]  TCP    0.0.0.0:12345          0.0.0.0:0              LISTENING       9324
    [14]  TCP    0.0.0.0:12347          0.0.0.0:0              LISTENING       17548
    [106]  TCP    [::]:12345             [::]:0                 LISTENING       9324
    [107]  TCP    [::]:12345             [::]:0                 LISTENING       9324
    [108]  TCP    [::]:12347             [::]:0                 LISTENING       17548

    If you can see your ip address or 0.0.0.0 or [::] in the list for both 12345 and 12347 then your server is properly configured to allow remote connection, then this issue can be caused by a server misconfiguration.

    Please let us know if you can see both 12345 and 12347 in the list of listening ports with the Encrypted installation.

    Just a note, during the installation I selected Encrypted File as authentication type.

    I uninstall the systems and re-install, this time I selected standard type. Now I can use client and all other components by the users which are assigned to KxenUsers group.

    FYI
