Queries for Enterprise Portal

Hi all,

I am new to EP. I want to know some points:

1) create Url for Portlal and open it in browser.

2) create pages in portal.

Please suggest.

This is rubbish. I'm locking it.

I am opening the url in Iexplorer for portal using <Host name>:<port>/ir/portal/.

But it displays "Page can not be Open".

Although, I am able to Open url for WD ABAP application.Is EPC is required to enable Portal or any other Software to enable this.

Please suggest what is behind that.

Hi,

Did you put the following entry in the hosts file located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

<IP Addr> <host name>

Make sure you have tab space in between IP and host name

Try cheking with the URL

http://<host name>:<Port>/index.html

what do you get?

Also in first case do you have EP components installed on it?

EP core components are required to enable the portal

If you are using NetWeaver 7.0 check this blog for Portal components

Yes, I don't have EP components installed on my server.May be it is the cause.

By using, http://<host name>:<Port>/index.html

I got same error.Also, what will come out using index.html.

Hi,

We use the browser for opeining the portal server.

The general url will look as http://localhost:50000/irj/portal
