Maintaining of multiple individual material under one fixed asset

Dear Experts,

We need to maintain multiple individual material under one fixed asset in SAP Business ByDesign.

Can you please let me know how to maintain the same?

Hi Sujeet,

In Fixed asset work center,

Fixed asset view

Select asset

click on Edit -> Master data

Individual material tab

Click on Add row, Provide individual ID

Save

Thanks for your response.

I tried the same but came across following questions;

1) What is the source of getting individual material? From existing fixed assets?

2) How system will add up the value of newly added individual material?

Requirement - We have Fixed Asset Master Data - "Name - Laptops" Under Laptops we would like to account 5 different laptops, let say-

Apple, HP, Dell, Microsoft, Acer. All these 5 laptops should have different individual material id. So that, if business want to discard Acer then they can retire by choosing Acer individual material.

Hi Sujeet,

You will have to create the individual material first in the system. If the individual materials exist in the system, you can select them in the fixed asset.

Regarding value, you will need to post the acquisition for the respective Individual material.While posting the manual acquisition you will see all the assigned individual material.

Similarly for the discarding particular individual material, you can do so by individual material scrapping.
