PI 7.1 application does not start after windows server reboot

I'm trying to autostart the PI 7.1 application after a server reboot. We're on Windows and the 2 services called SAP<SID>_00 and SAP<SID>_01 are set to start automatic. The problem is that I have to start the database and application using MMC each time a reboot takes place.

How can this be automated?

I found messages that said to add autostart=1 to the start profile parameter but 7.1 does not have a start profile anymore.

your help in this is appreciated

ps I hope this is the correct forum

Thanks

There is no start profile in PI 7.1 to add the autostart parameter too.

I ended up using a command file to start the application after a reboot.

We also have a portal 7.0 system with start profiles, after adding the autostart=1 parameter to the start profiles the system still did not start after a reboot. I'm just going to use a command file to start the portal app after a reboot

Thanks for the replys

1. "Autostart=1" is case sensitive, i.e. the capital "A" is required

2. NetWeaver start profiles usually are located in C:\usr\sap\<your SID>\SYS\profile and file names begin with your SID.

Hope this helps.

Hi Venter,

Apart from the suggestions for oracle, try to add "Autostart=1" at the top in the SAP start profile.

Let me know if it works.

I did try that, Oracle comes up fine but SAP does not. There is something we're missing with this new version, the older versions does allow you to start the apps automatic using the autostart parameter.

Sorry, I can't help you with that.

Anyone else?

In any case, do not change your current settings for Oracle!

A running Oracle is a prerequisite for SAP to come up.

Sorry about that - we're running Oracle and there is a service for Oracle already, but the database is not set to autostart in the registry

ok then,

set the Oracle service to automatic start, and the change the registry.

Then at least Oracle should come up. SAP may be a different problem, but without Oracle, it cannot come up anyway.

... I have to start the database and ...

It might help if you told us what your database is ....

Probably you will need a service for the database as well, and maybe a registry entry.
