Remove budget in Project System from prior fiscal years

Hello,

Budget control has been activated in PS. In PS, it is on annual budget so there's budget and actuals in FY 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, & 2007. Is there a way to remove the annual budget in those Fiscal Years? I've deactivated budget control using tcode CJBW. Once budget control is deactivated, I tried removing the budget but it's giving an error "budget exceeded."

Is there a way to remove budget in PS for prior fiscal years?

Thank you all for your response. I'm looking to remove/delete the budget so reporting wise, the budget won't be overstated and we can report the entire project in one project and not 2.

Hi

Please do the following steps:

CJ32 - Change the release budget to Zero

CJ30 - Now change the budget as you require

CJ32 - Budget release as per the Budget changed in CJ30

dear,

you can remove the budget from WBSE but the you can only remove available budget that is if any commitment,Actual value is there then you should remove only remaining budget.

as per my knowledge, you had already de-activated the budget control.

so, my Q is why do u have to remove/delet the budget, when the system has no control of budget on project.

Thanks for the response. TCode CJ34 does not work because of the "budget exceeded error." Right now, I'm in Fiscal Year 2009 and I've already carryforward the budget from Fiscal Year 2007 in a project. I'm trying to remove the budget from a project for Fiscal Year 2007 and if successful, there will be no budget in PS but have actuals. So, is there a way to remove PS budget for a project in prior Fiscal Years?

Dear Ron,

I don't think we can return all budget if actual posting already took place, even if you've already deactivated the availability control (CMIIW)

If your really wish to delete the budget, you can implement this note Note 1145955 - Orders, WBS elements: Deleting budget, resetting status

I have implemented this note before because I wanted to rearrange WBS hierarchy and it's only possible if the WBS budget equals to zero

If I may ask, why do you need to delete the budget?

you can also carry forward budget to next year with transaction CJCO, before that you are require to carryforward commitment.

Hi

You can tranfer the Remaining budget with T code CJ34. You have an option to return the remaining amount to other project by means of CJ38.
