Hi Guy's
I want to create a new document status for the document type in customisation..
While i create a new status for the document type the status text is completely greyed out...
Pls let me know how to enter in the status text???

I ma not sure how much this answer will be useful
After creating a DOC type...
Select the doc type and click DEFINE DOCUMENT STATUS
then click new entries
There you enter the Document status ex "AD" and click enter
System will automatically copy the Status Text... its not required for you to enter the doc status text
or
if u want to create a new document status... enter the new two letter status and click new status
then go to define document status description and define the language and enter the text

You can define the document status irrespective of the document type in Define document status descriptions. If u have created new statuses while custmzng the document type then the abbrevations will be already present in document statuses then you can define the status thre.
