Hi all

how can i do the forward scheduling in the production order, Now the Order type is configured to Backward scheduling, so when the finish date entered then system will propose the start date based on the backward scheduling. So my client wants to enter the start date and the system should propose the finish date.

Please advice, is there any setting for the backward and forward scheduling.

Dear,

In OPU3 you can define your scheduling type with respective to order Type. Or else you can change the scheduling type to forward scheduling in production order CO01. then enter the start and do scheduling.

Hi Brahmakar

I have changed to forward scheduling in production order and have given a start date but system is not proposing the finished date even though inhouse production is maintained up to 10days.

Please Advice.

Dear,

System will calculate the finish date from routing timing please check the routing.

Just go to production order CO01 scheduling type forward the enter the basic start date and press enter and check your result.

Please try this and come back if any problem.

Hi,

In OPU3 the specifying the Sceduling paramaters in sceduling define the backward sceduling and check automatic sceduling....

After which come to CO01 and give the qty and press enter while u r saving the dates are automatically by taking into consideration Inhouse prod time..and Scedule margin key.. which are mentioned in MAterial master..

Dear,

You can do the automatic scheduling of production using make setting in OPU3 , tick mark in Automatic scheduling Right

To schedule the order during release activate the schedule indicator in Release tab of the production scheduling profile (OPKP)and assign the same to the material in work scheduling view. Please check it.

And try with new order.

Thanks Brahmankar,

Thanks again.

The indicator you said, that is for scheduling does after order release automatically. So its not effecting my requirement. Order is already released or about to release, my client may change the basic dates i.e either start date or finish date, but system should propose the dates automatically.

So my client regularly enter the start date and they want the system to generate the finish date automatically by changing the scheduling type to forward.

Now system is not proposing finish date untill i clicked on scheduling icon. Shcheduling icon carries out the scheduling with the proposing date. If this is the only way then i can tell my users to click on scheduling icon or else is there is any other way please advice to me so that i can follow that.

Dear,

You are right best practice is use the scheduling indicator.

If you are in CO01 scheduling type forward then ender basic start date and keep order finished date blank and press enter it will copied the routing and define the scheduling date.

Hope clear to you.

Hi,

You can mention this in scheduling parameters. T-code OPU3. OPU5 for scheduling planned orders and production orders. In this configuration you can define whether you need to select forward scheduling or backward scheduling.
