Troubleshooting issues with the SUM2.0 SL Common UI

Hi experts,

I use SUM2.0 to implement EHP8 and I got the http error 404 when connecting to http://tccstb1:1128/lmsl/sumabap/TCD/doc/sluigui/. I use SUM1.0 before and it worked fine until Maintenance Planner told me target system is kernel 7.5 so I have to use SUM 2.0 instead. Please help.

By the way, should I use <local System> or <domain\sidadm> to start saphostexec service? I use <domain\sidadm> first and I reinstall a new SAPHostAgent using <local System> account but the problem persists.

The attachemnt is sapstartsrv.log, FYI.

Hi Dennis,

The SUM URL looks weird to me. As per SUM 2.0 guide for Windows the URL should look like:

http://<hostname>:1128/lmsl/sumabap/<SID>/sluigui

One question in addition: How did you register SUM in Host Agent? As per Guide you should run this command:

<DRIVE>:\<SUM directory>\abap\SUMSTART.BAT confighostagent

What is the output in your console after registering? From the sapstartsrv.log I do not see any error related to your error description.

Best regards,

Sid

Hi Dennis,

You can find below help link regarding the correct user to install the hostagent.

https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/39/a1f623bae74a2784f88282c8652070/frameset.htm

Also there is no significant error message found in the log your provide, you may increase the trace level of hostagent then check again.

Increase the tracelevel of SAP HostAgent to 3 as described here:

==================

Changing the default trace level of SAP Host Agent SAP Host Agent runs with tracelevel 1 by default. If you need more information to be able to analyze an issue, you can add or change the following profile values: hostexec/trace service/trace Proceed as follows: Open the SAP Host Agent profile ( host_profile ) which is located in the exe directory of the SAP Host Agent (/usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/ or C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\). Add or modify the required values, for example: hostexec/trace = 3 service/trace = 3 Restart SAP Host Agent by executing saphostexec -restart (as a user with root authorization ) or hostexecstart -restart (as user <sapsid>adm) All SAP Host Agent log files in /usr/sap/hostctrl/work/ (UNIX) or C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\work\ (Windows) now contain much more information.

Hi Dennis,

I agree with Sid.

Looking at the log attached, there does not seem to be any activity from the browser. I could suggest to check the hostname / dns as well.
