BODS jobs compatibility across service packs of same version

Hi All,

We are in the process of upgrading SAP Data Service from 4.1 SP4 to 4.1 SP10. Because of ongoing development, we need to confirm if jobs across multiple SPs are compatible? For e.g. if I upgraded my Dev first with SP10 ,would I be able to move jobs from Dev to QA(4.1 SP 4)? This requirement is coming up due to clash of timelines of upgrade process and ongoing development project simultaneously.

Hi Jyoti,

Apologies, I actually misread it. You did say 4.1 sp10.

Either way, this still is not supported. The repository version (version of jobs) should be the same as the version of Data Services. 4.1 SP10 jobs should only be ran in a 4.1 SP10 environment, never in a lower version.

Hello,

No, this is not supported. Jobs on a higher version should not be imported into a lower version. There are many differences in functionality between 4.1 and 4.2 therefore, they are not compatible. Designer should throw an error if you try to do this.
