Bin number field on WM view of material master

Bin number field on WM view of material master doesn't offer drop down option (F4) for selecting bin number. Is this a bug or it is by design?

Hello,

This partcular field need to be fed while creating material master. This tells the system that this particular material will be go and sit in that particular bin. That is how we fix the particular bin in fixed bin strategy.

Hi,

This is obvious, as the bin field is only meant for fixed bin functionality, wherein materials always gets placed. This field's entry is usually known to user at the time of adding it, because user him/her self decides before hand in which bin the stock is to be put prior to filling this field in material master.

Hi Marc,

It is available in ECC 6.0. Don't know about earlier / old version.

System also could not show any drop down if there is no bin created in the storage type where you are setting the material master. Hope this will help.
