File To Idoc - Failure test

Former Member

Hi experts,

I have a file to Idoc scenario.

We made a test : we stopped for 5 minutes (on the ecc side) the Application server that treated the idocs.

We continued to send files to XI, but it seems that we did not get any error on the XI side, the messages were treated successfully.

It looks like the messages have been lost on the ecc side (no idoc created during the stop).

We didnt get any error in particular, but is there a way to trace this somewhere ? or to retrieve the idocs that have not been created ? why didnt we get any error on the XI side ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Jamal

Hi,

you will have entries in SM58 transaction in XI..............execute SM58 with user as * and execute it.....there you will find entries erroring because of r/3 being down........now since your R/3 is up so you can select the first entry and click to reprocess it..........then you will get your idocs in r/3 system.

Hi,

The entries will be there in SM58 at XI side and once the target system is up(ECC)..automatically all the IDOC will reach the receiver.

Thanks

Thanks a lot all for your answers.

I thought we lost some idocs, but after check, they have been correctly created once the application server has restart.

Thanks again,
