Hi everyone,
I'm new to the SAP Portal and have a question regarding versions.
The scenario is as follows:
currently we work with NWDS SP13 on a NW7.0 Portal with SP15, which works fine.
Due to a new project, we will be updating our portal to SP17. The plan is to update the NWDS to SP17, too.
But since we will be updating the different systems at different times, we would have a time period of 2 months, where the NWDS with SP17 would deploy on a testing system with SP15 (to work on a current project).
Does this scenario lead to problems or is it maybe entirely impossible to do so?
Thanks alot in advance,
Alain
hi,
There will be no issues as per your applications.
You can go ahead.

Kris

Oh right, sorry, forgot about that.
The current project in question uses indeed developed Web Dynpro Applications.
After the messages so far, we would want to let the developers keep their old NWDS, since using an older SP on the NWDS should result in less difficulties than using a higher SP, right?
Thanks alot so far.
It depends! If you're building Web Dynpro apps, then the official line is that you need to have NWDS at the same release as the deploment platform. If you;re building portal apps (PDK) you might be OK...

Alain,
I think it should work fine..
