Crystal Report 8.5 Professional Product Key is missing

Hi all,

I cannot install Crystal Report 8.5 Professional as the Product Key is missing, please advise if there is any solution so that I could install this product. Thanks.

    I think you can request for new keys:

    For a new key:

    Request key codes for new orders via SAP Marketplace (SMP), will receive a download letter on new purchases providing them with their SMP login credentials. Using these credentials you can login and click in the "Keys & Requests" tab > Request a License key.

    OR

    Their email and contact number is posted in this thread: UPDATED- If you have ACTIVATION ISSUES, please read (Crystal Xcelsius ONLY)

    You can contact an SAP customer service agent at 1-866- 890-7686.

    OR

    If your Key code does not work

    You need create a customer message https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/message using component XX-SER-LIKEY-BOJ.

    Also,you can try the following option.

    Symptom

    Installing Crystal Reports (CR) 8.5 Encrypted Edition requires a license key. When obtaining the license key from the Crystal Decisions website, the following error message appears:

    "The Serial number has already been registered"

    Other error messages may appear instead:

    "Invalid Release Code (ItemID)" in CR 8.5.

    -or-

    "Item ID Not Equal" in CR 8.

    Why do these error messages appear?

    If one of these error messages appears contact Crystal Decisions Technical Support

    Hi Wing,

    Could you please test the following solution.

    When registering Crystal Reports (CR) 8.5, by clicking the 'Help' menu, and then clicking 'Register / Change Address', the following error message appears:

    "Input Error. Registration Number Invalid"

    Why does this error message appear?

    Resolution

    This error message appears because there is a missing registry key.

    To resolve this issue, create this registry key.

    Using the Registry Editor can cause serious problems that may require reinstalling the operating system. Crystal Decisions is not responsible for any problems resulting from using the Windows Registry Editor. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. It is recommended that you back up the registry before you edit it.

    ====================

    1. On the 'Start' menu, click 'Run'.

    2. Type 'Regedit' in the 'Open' text box, and then click 'OK'.

    3. In the Windows Registry Editor, navigate to the following sub key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SEAGATE SOFTWARE\CRYSTAL REPORTS\KEYCODES\CR DEV

    NOTE:

    The 'CR DEV' sub key is for the Developer edition only. If you have the Professional edition, your sub key will be 'CR PRO' and if you have the Standard edition, your sub key will be 'CR STD'.

    ====================

    4. Right-click the 'CR DEV' sub key and then click 'New' > 'Binary Value'. Name this new Binary Value 'Serial'. Do not enter a value for it.

    5. Close the Windows Registry Editor.

    6. Open CR and on the 'Help' menu click 'Register / Change Address'.

    7. Follow the Registration Wizard to register CR.

    CR will now register without an error message appearing.

      It required to input CD Key Code before install the product, and I cannot continue the setup as the key is missing, please advise. Thanks.

    No work around, if you don't have the key you won't be able to install it.
