Hi Vivek,

1. For implementing ECN for BOM, in OS27, flag EC Management active & History reqmt fields.

2. Create an ECN in CC01 with the valid from date & other details as per your business need & modfiy the BOM in CS02 by specifying this change nos.

3. You can restrict modifications of BOM with authorizations, check with your basis guy. The objects are C_STUE_BER, C_STUE_NOH, C_STUE_WRK

IF helpful award points

Hi Vivek,

The first step is already maintained,I followed the second on.

Now I tried to do som changes in the BOM. Then How do I use the ECM feature. All I know is CS80 & AUT10,But both of them are giving me a change no. I want to know what was the change done ,Who did it,When it was done.

Please Advice.

Hi Vivek,

You can use CS14 & compare the BOM with present change nos. & the previous change nos. this should give you an idea as to what was changed.

Hope it is clear.

Dear Vivek Sharma,

Once doing the config settings in OS27,OS54, and having a check for the authorization object

C_STUE_NOH ,the system asks a change number while creating and changing the BOM in CS01 and

CS02 respectively.

CC05,CC07,CC60 are the reports used in standard SAP for ECM.

For exact BOM changes check this,

Check in Table STAS using BOM number.

Say For Eg:

Product is X and it's BOM number is 00002850 and it has got a component say A.

Now if you check in STAS table you will get the result like this,

STLNR STLKN AENNR LKENZ STVKN

00002850 00000001 00000001

Now Let's assume you are deleting this component A and adding a new component say B using a Change

number 50000000076.So for the same product X if you check in table STAS,then the result will be like this,

STLNR STLKN AENNR LKENZ STVKN

00002850 00000001 500000000076 X 00000001

00002850 00000002 500000000076 00000002

Which means item node 00000001 is no more present in the BOM because its marked with LKENZ = X.

I hope this will help you to understand more.

Revert back if you need any more assistance.

Dear All,

IS it really possible to track the changes made to a BOM if ECM is not in place. My client is not planning to implement it.However he wants to track the changes done to a BOM.

By using AUT10 & CS80 I can see the the changes done But I cannot see which material the change was done. Is there a single screen where I can find All the details regarding the changes done to the BOM item.

Please Advice.

Dear Vivek Sharma,

Let's Assume for a material A there's a component B with 1 quantity.and let the BOM number of A be

00003195.

Now without change number you are making the changes like deleting the item B and adding a new

component say C with 2 quantity and a component scrap of 5 %.

In AUT10,enter the T code as CS02 and then the date range for which you want to check.

After executing you will be able to see component B under old value column and C under new value

column along with the component scrap row.

Now acually it may take time to understand the report as such.

check and revert back.
