What is the difference between these 2 transaction codes in terms of the tables that get populated and the information that gets requested? What are the advantages of each transaction code? I am creating an inter-company customer conversion program and wish to under both of them.

FD01 is comapny code level, XD01 icludes sales area. You can limit access for FD01 and people and have more one central person use XD01 ie super user. In config you can set up custome field status for the two tcodes which allows variations of fields allowed.

pts appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I was trying to understand the customer master Tcodes VD01,XD01,& FD01, but was not able to understand completely, still there is confusion i know that the Tcode

  • FD01- Company code level & data  will be stored in tables KNA1 and KNB1.
  • XD01- Include sales area & data will be stored in tables KNA1, KNB1 and KNVV(With company code data).
  • VD01 - Include sales area & data will be stored in tables KNA1, KNB1 and KNVV (w/o Company code data).

Now my question is :

  1. Which tcode should be used ,means in which scenario or condition to create the customer master data?
  2. If i create customer master data with VD01, instead of XD01 / FD01 ,how it will affect the master data
  3. what is the advantage or the disadvantage of using any of the tcode randomly for creating the customer master data.

Regards

Just out of curiosity are there any t-codes that create a customer at just the client level (the equivalent of using FSP1 to create a GL account) and only write to KNA1? Are there any transactions that just write to KNB1? If anyone is really up to it feel free to reply back with all possible customer master data related t-codes and descriptions.

Hello,

For FD01, data will be stored in tables KNA1 and KNB1

For XD01, data will be stored in tables KNA1, KNB1 and KNVV

I would prefer to have three segements instead of two segements through FD01.

Only you create in FD01, if there is no billing related activities from SD module.

Run F.2D in order to see in which are they are NOT created.

Regards,

Ravi
