Hi,
My scenario:
The project has start and end date 27.11.2008 and 31.12.2009.
On the assigned network activity the the constraint dates "Must start on" and "Must finish on" are set to 27.11.2008 and 31.12.2009.
On the activity element the same dates as defined in the constraint on the network activity, occurs.
When I try to add a new person under the "Person assignment" tab, the date 27.11.2008 are determined by the system as default. As soon as I run time scheduling the date shifts from 27.11.2008 to 28.01.2009.
In the configuration of the network scheduling parameters (OPU6) the field "Start in the past", the value is set to 0.
How is the is the date in the "Date" field under tab "Person Assignment" on an activity element determined?
The date for the person assignment is the latest that the person assigned can start/finish the task. The date itself is the earliest start date of the activity/element. If "start in the past" is "0", the system performs a "today" scheduling when you schedule the network. Not knowing the kind of scheduling options you are using, I would suggest going through the SAP link below and pay special attention to "Current Date Scheduling" and "Special Function: Today Scheduling"

Thank you for some useful pointers. It seems like "Today scheduling" is performed if I add a date less than the current day in the "Person Assignment" tab. My big question is why the date in the "Person assigned" tab gets recalculated to 28.01.2009 for all dates lesser than 28.01.2009. If I register a date >= 28.01.2009 the date does not get recalculated. Please look at the attached screenshots.
